We met in Terrace at the Coffee shop and car pooled to the turnoff and parking east of Terrace. The eager crew. Some friends from as far back as 1981 here.

Then a stint in the timber.

A lake along the way where my fable the Goat Queen and the Catasoni Princess was Hatched.

I hatched a Fable here on the Goat Queen in my book, The Anti-Evolution Heresies.

Tuckered folks took time out to snooze. What joy to relax in such a hallowed place.

A wonderful hike with great friends in a beautiful place. A little piece of heaven.

The start is at the top of the slash followed by a bushwack and then ridge walk rapidly getting steeper. We had mostly Kitimaatians.

A view of Kitsumkalum Lake from near the start.

Our oldest member and one of the fittest.

A lupine along the way.

The summit.

Maroon Mountain to the south east. Hiking music video to go with that hike. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpLJAl6hvHg

A view to the northeast from high up the ridge. I hiked that mountain with Phyllis one year. Fabulous adventure but long bushwhack.

Where goats and hikers summer range can be found in northwestern BC.

A young woman ran across the street and leaped on me in Terrace one day and gave me the biggest hug ever and said you probably don't remember me but when I hiked with you one year it was the best year of my life. Thank you thank you thank you. I said, no, thank you.

We met in Kitimat at the Forest District Office and car pooled up the road behind to the top of the logging slash behind the station. It was great to connect with old friends again and sweat our way to the top.

From there we followed ribbons and got quickly into snow and trudging. Fun fun fun. A great view of Mount Elizabeth, a serious hike where a couple died having got lost on the way back.

Nice shot showing the Kitimat Valley north with visibility to Terrace.

Hero shot of the mighty conquerer snow bunny wild lost turkey whatever. Music to accompany the next pic. I composed this a few years back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKjOgIMhx3I

Hero shots of the final summiteers.

A great spring hike for those who want to venture into deep snow country which Kitimat is. One year they had over 12 feet of snow in town!
