Nafta Violates Canadians Charter Rights and is Therefore a Contravention of Canada's Highest Law. 2 April 2009. Jorma Jyrkkanen

NAFTA is Illegal and Violates The Canadian Charter Apr. 2nd, 2009 at 11:09 AM NAFTA is Illegal and Violates The Canadian Charter 2 April 2009 NAFTA has been shown to transfer sovereignty from Citizens of Canada whose rights are guaranteed under the constitution to foreign multinational corporations. A case in point is DOW suing Canada under violation of NAFTA to roll back pesticide legislation banning its cosmetic use. A trade agreement made without a change to the constitution permitting such sovereign power transfers, has brought about this loss of Canadian sovereignty, ie. NAFTA. This a clear violation of the Charter Rights of Canadians to be represented by only Canadian citizens, and to make laws for the people by the people of Canada. It is therefore without standing and must be regarded as illegal.
