Contaminants of 2,4-D reported to me by IAOC President Joe Cole 22 April 2013. Jorma Jyrkkanen

Contaminants of 2,4-D reported to me by IAOC President Joe Cole Apr. 22nd, 2013 at 11:59 AM Jormawankenobe Plays Electric 12 String Contaminants of 2,4-D found by the Canadian and USA Governments 23 Sept 2008 Amongst the dioxins there are the following found by Federal Researchers in Canada: 2,7-dichlorodibenzodioxin, 1,3,7-trichlorodibenzodioxin, 1,3,6,8-tetrachlorodibenzodioxin, 1,3,7,9-tetrachlorodibenzodioxin (Cochran, et. al. 1981, Agriculture Canada). [See http://jyrkkanenconservationbiology.wordpress.com/2010/03/03/dioxins-in-24-d-in-canada/] Note: dioxins are produced whenever you burn polychlorophenols at low temperatures in the presence of salts and the isomer generated depends upon the starting chlorophenol. Other contaminants revealed by the USA Government House Senate Oversight Committee to the International Agent Orange Committee of which I was a member are: octachlorobisfirone, xanthen-9-ones (Coddling Moth Ovicide), mono, di, tri, and tetradioxins (repeat of above), probably furans (usually found with dioxins-I added this), n-nitrosomethylamines, n-nitrosodiethylamines, ortho and para monochlorophenol isomers, (2,6-Di, 2,4,6 tri-) chloromethoxy phenol isomers, n-nitrosodiethanolamine, 3 chlorophenoxymethanes. These were kindly provided to me by my deceased friend, Joe Cole, Chairman of the IAOC. This is a concotion that can change your gender or give you cancer. 2,4-D was an ingredient in Agent Orange, 2,4,5-T being another. I don't know how much of each is found in the various formulations. Cancers most consistently associated with Phenoxy herbicide exposures were Non-Hodgkins lymphoma and Soft tissue sarcoma. Joe died of NHL from exposure in Vietnam while serving with the Armed Forces. JoeCole RIP Joe and thanks for your Service to America, Veterans and environmental health. If you were worried about the active ingredient and have been reading the label on it, you may want to read the toxicology reports on these contaminants. I am not sure if a surfactants is used with 2,4-D as a carrier but if it is, you may also want to find out what that is and read up on its toxicology. For example in Vision herbicide, a glyphosate based herbicide, the surfactant was POEA and it was a suspected carcinogen. https://jorma-jyrkkanen.livejournal.com/238533.html
