Ebola Spreads Outside Africa to Phillipines Jan. 5th, 2009 at 11:12 AM jjyrkkanen76@outlook.com Pigs carrying Ebola virus outside of Africa. 6 Jan 2009 Hog Farmers in Nueva Ecija and Bulacan Provinces in central Luzon dealing with Ebola-Reston virus and and also a very virulent PRRS virus. The Ebola Reston strain can affect humans but the PRRS virus cannot. The WHO FAO is hard at work trying to determine the extent of the outbreak and control it. This is a serious new development in infectious disease management for the world and one which bears watching very closely because of the enormous lethality of the virus.
